Residential Pickup and Delivery

Most carriers will do home or residential pickups and deliveries but there are some things to keep in mind when doing these types of shipments. Most carriers do their pickups with full size trailers of 45 feet up to 53 feet long so you’ll need to be sure there is plenty of access to get a large tractor (semi truck) and trailer through. There are cases where a smaller straight truck or box truck can be used to access your residence but not all carriers have them available at all locations. Be sure to ask about availability of a straight truck if you think there might be access issues.

All carriers generally charge extra for residential shipments as the majority of their freight is business related. Since they are usually picking up in industrial zones it can take extra time to get to a residence and there are additional liabilities they have to be aware of as well and this is why residential shipments tend to be higher. Residential fees are generally $100 or more but with Payless Freight discounts you will generally have residential fees substantially less for even more savings on your freight shipments.
